Creighton Holder

Creighton Holder is currently a double Master of Music candidate in Piano Performance under Dr. Ellen Price Elder and Choral Conducting under Dr. Gregory Fuller at the University of Southern Mississippi. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from USM. Mr. Holder has been an adjunct faculty member of the Southern Miss Piano Institute since the fall of 2014.  He serves as the graduate representative for both the piano and choral department in the Student Advisory Council as well as the piano department’s student Public Relations Representative for the School of Music. Before transferring to USM, Creighton graduated from Pearl River Community College where he received the departmental music award for excellence and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He holds memberships with the Hattiesburg Music Teachers League (where he serves as Mississippi Federation of Music Clubs’ Chair), as well as the Mississippi Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, American Choral Directors Association, and the Southern Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Creighton is currently the accompanist for the Southern Miss Concert Choir and the Hattiesburg Choral Union. His previous work has included accompanying for the Southern Miss Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir. Mr. Holder is coming from St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where he served as Music Director. He and his wife, Jessica, have one daughter, Rosalie Cecilia, who was born in June 2017.
